PUBG: Battlegrounds Details Update 20.1
Update 20.1 for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is due in early October, and the patch notes have just been revealed. In addition to launching its 20th season of Ranked play, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds will be updating its user interface, weapon attachments, vehicle combat, quality of life, and more.

PUBG: Battlegrounds Details Update 20.1
Like DayZ, which originated as a modification for the open-source game ARMA 2, PUBG: Battlegrounds started out as a fork before eventually becoming its own game and a forerunner in the wildly successful battle royale genre, which today has a plethora of established games. Since then, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) has risen to prominence, becoming one of the most popular games of all time with over a billion downloads of its mobile iteration. PUBG: Battlegrounds, being a live-service game with millions of dedicated players, must frequently provide new content as it enters new competitive seasons. Updates to the game are constantly being sent out, either to add new content like objects or levels or to fix bugs or make the game more fun to play.
On October 11 for PC players and October 19 for console players, PUBG: Battlegrounds will get its next big update, Update 20.1. The patch improves the game in a variety of ways, including the balance of vehicle combat and the game’s weapon attachments. There are now three reticle options for the 4x Scope, selectable through the Page Up and Page Down buttons on PC and the Settings menu on consoles. The relative strengths of the different grips have also been tweaked to make the widely used Vertical Foregrip less of a no-brainer.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has adjusted the vehicle combat to make it more fair for players who prefer to fight on foot vs those who prefer to fight from a vehicle. During movement, both the recoil of handguns and the time it takes to reload have been significantly increased, and players may no longer reload while adjusting the steering wheel. The previewing of each individual body component and the categorization of wardrobe settings into tabs are only two examples of the many UI upgrades. In addition, the Carry function may now be used with Limited interact keys, and screen ping markers will become more translucent when they are close so they don’t interfere with targeting.
Along with this month’s crossover between PUBG: Battlegrounds and Dead by Daylight comes the start of the 20th Ranked Season, with brand new rewards for players to earn, such as animated ID emblems, permanently unlockable parachute skins, and other rewards usable for the duration of a single season.
