New Super Mario Lego Sets Announced
To be clear, this is not the first time LEGO and Nintendo have worked together; the first Super Mario LEGO set was released in 2020. As a result of the commercial success of this set, LEGO and Nintendo have decided to work together again to bring you additional sets based on Mario’s exploits. Since then, the two companies have released a number of expansion packs, as well as a massive Mighty Bowser LEGO set that contains 2,800 bricks. Builders could move Bowser’s head from side to side and even make a fireball come out of his mouth with this massive, interactive LEGO figure.
In January of 2023, LEGO will release a new line of Super Mario Bros.-themed sets. Toy builders can add more locations and characters from the Mario universe to their collections with the seven new Super Mario LEGO expansion packs. New characters like Birdo and a Green Toad are included in the Character Packs, and other expansion packs feature new environments and challenges based on Mario games.
These new Super Mario LEGO sets, when put together, create an exciting new environment for Mario and his pals to explore. The purpose of these sets is to add new challenges to the standard Super Mario LEGO starter course, such as a movable Conkdor figure for Mario to defeat or an ice level for him to skate on. The only set to include a Mario minifigure, as well as the bricks needed to construct a simple level, is the beginner’s course. The price of the Super Mario LEGO starter set is $59.99, with the new expansion packs costing between $5.99 and $64.99.
The purpose of these supplemental sets is to add new material to the existing line of Super Mario LEGO products. Despite sharing a name with the upcoming Super Mario Bros. Movie starring Chris Pratt and Jack Black, these characters take their cues from the original Super Mario video games.
