In early 2023, Valve will add the lasting revenant Muerta to its multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game Dota 2. This unveiling is a part of the grand finals of The International 2022, the world’s largest annual Dota 2 event. During the tournament, Valve also announced the Cave Johnson announcer pack for Dota 2, which would add the creator of Half-Life and Portal 2’s developer, Aperture Science, to the multiplayer game in early November.

So yet, there aren’t much specifics on the newcomer; we just have a brief animated clip showing off her skeletal black and gold look. She brandishes what looks like an antique revolver and speaks directly to the camera, saying, “On both sides of the spirit barrier, they mutter my name — and dread me much more than death.” A number of spectres with skull faces appear around her, and her whole body bursts into a brilliant cyan pattern reminiscent to Death Prophet’s ghosts.
