Modern Warfare 2 Possibly Adding Customizable Killcams
Recent rumours suggest that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will soon receive fully customizable killcams, giving players even more leeway to express their individuality in the game. With the release of Season 1 content on November 16, this will add to the already sizable list of obtainable cosmetics and unlocks.

Modern Warfare 2 Possibly Adding Customizable Killcams
It’s important to note right off the bat that Modern Warfare 2 wouldn’t be the first Call of Duty game to include this sort of innovation. Specifically, Call of Duty: Vanguard gave players access to a wide variety of killcam themes, but reports say that the upcoming version of this technology will much beyond what fans have seen previously.
On Twitter, Call of Duty leaker RalphsValve said that Modern Warfare 2 will soon include editable and highly adjustable killcams. He says that at the end of each match, players will have the option of watching either their Play of the Game or Final Kill video, with the latter featuring additional customization options like the ability to add custom graphics, GIF files, templates, messages, and audio samples. Players interested in this addition should be aware that it is not likely to be included in Season 1 of Modern Warfare 2.
While RalphsValve is seemingly confident that user-editable killcams will be added to the game, it’s always wise to take rumours and leaks with a grain of salt. Activision did patent a bespoke replay system earlier last year, lending greater validity to the accusations made here. It wouldn’t be out of character for the series, and Vanguard did establish that pattern.
Whether or not this is true, it’s clear that Modern Warfare 2 fans have every reason to look forward to what’s next for the series. With so many play styles and customization options, it’s clear that Activision wanted to pack as much into this game as they could. Great things are in store for the game if developer Infinity Ward manages to address player concerns and address the game’s core problems.
In reality, a paid DLC for Modern Warfare 2 might be released in 2023, significantly expanding the game’s offerings. What exactly the “full premium release” of the Call of Duty franchise will be in 2023, whether it a big expansion pack or a whole new game, remains to be seen.
