There Might Be a Banana Hidden on Your Overwatch 2 Character
Some of the playable characters in Overwatch 2 may be concealing a banana. The creation of a video game may be a time-consuming and difficult process, and game designers will sometimes add features for the sake of novelty rather than logic. It has also been revealed that one developer has been secretly placing bananas in game assets ever since working on a Titanfall IP.

There Might Be a Banana Hidden on Your Overwatch 2 Character
Many Twitter users, in the wake of Elon Musk’s takeover, have abandoned the platform for newer ones like Hive and Mastodon. In the aftermath of Elon Musk’s acquisition of Twitter, several users have issued calls for others to “admit their faults,” with one message specifically targeting video game developers. Furthermore, a programmer by the name of Bryan Bedford has come clean about secretly inserting bananas into the models’ texturing.
Bedford, according to his Twitter profile, is a senior character artist for Overwatch 2. A significant point of his tweet is that he “puts a banana somewhere in the model’s texture every time he works on it. Yes, each and every one of them.” Whether you questioned him if this also extended to Overwatch 2 characters, he’d just give you a winky face emoji and a banana emoji in response.
Bedford elaborated in a quote tweet, saying that he picked up the habit while working on a Titanfall IP (though he didn’t say which) and that a studio executive had an intense aversion to bananas. He says there aren’t any in the studio, so if he wanted one for breakfast, he’d have to go somewhere else. Following this, he began concealing them in-game and presumably never stopped.
Fans aren’t likely to come across the bananas since they’re woven throughout the textures. How many characters have been “banana’d” compared to those that Bedford has not touched is likewise unknown. Yet, if nothing else, it’s amusing to think that the texturing of at least a few Overwatch 2 heroes conceal a banana. Given the lore, it’s possible that other games also have secret bananas, and who knows what else developers have stashed away in their games.
