Microsoft Says Starfield Will Release After Redfall
While no official release date has been set, a Microsoft representative has said that Starfield would likely premiere after Arkane Studios’ Redfall. In a departure from its usual Elder Scrolls and Fallout fare, Bethesda is developing a space epic that is sure to become a fan favourite. Despite the fact that many people will likely dismiss it as “Skyrim in space,” the game is expected to be much more than that.

Playable trailers have been slowly revealing Starfield’s features, such as its conversation system, to eager fans. The Colony War of 2310, between the United Colonies and the Freestar Collective, will be set 20 years in the future, making way for the action role-playing game. By contrast, Bethesda’s upcoming first-person shooter Redfall pits players against swarms of vampires. The team behind Deathloop and the Dishonored games is working on this new game as well.
It is unknown when either game will be released, however a recent interview with Xbox Game Studios’ Matt Booty suggested that Starfield will be released after Redfall. After mentioning Redfall, he says that the team is “looking down the road on the schedule” and may expect Starfield shortly after.
