GTA Online Player Sees A Violent Interaction Between NPCs
One Grand Theft Auto Online user stumbled onto an odd and violent encounter between two NPCs. In this month, we commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Grand Theft Auto series, which is still a gaming institution in its own right. Since Rockstar Games has announced Grand Theft Auto 6 is under development, gamers have been waiting with bated breath. At the same time, Grand Theft Auto Online’s huge player base and continued popularity are largely attributable to these facts.
GTA Online Player Sees A Violent Interaction Between NPCs
Grand Theft Auto Online allows players to create their own characters and roam a massive open world in which they may engage in a wide variety of activities, from sports to heists to teamwork. Inevitably, some players of GTA Online will experience strange occurrences, either at the hands of other players or, more commonly, those of non-playable NPCs. In one video, a bug turns a GTA Online NPC into a ballet dancer, while in another, a player intentionally causes a vehicle catastrophe. Similarly, another user in Grand Theft Auto Online has seen a bizarre and violent fight between two NPCs.
GTA Online player bumbum 69 of Reddit was the witness of an anomalous interaction between two NPCs. The user recorded themselves seeing the confirmation screen after agreeing to terms. The player waits for a few seconds by the side of the road, and then something strange occurs. In the corner of the screen, a non-playable character appears to be on fire. The NPC is then struck and killed by a passing vehicle, and a second person emerges.
Shockingly, the second passenger in the car jumps out and strikes the unconscious victim who may already be dead on the ground. After colliding with the first Grand Theft Auto Online player, the car’s driver likewise catches fire and perishes in a matter of seconds. It’s unclear from the initial post if this strange behaviour on the part of an NPC was the result of a bug in GTA Online or the deliberate acts of another user. Meanwhile, followers commented with amusing descriptions of what a normal day is like in areas like Blaine County, Florida, and Ohio.
The video uploaded by user Bumbum 69 exemplifies the high degree of unpredictability present in Grand Theft Auto Online. Rockstar is hard at work on GTA 6 to commemorate the franchise’s silver anniversary, but until then, there will always be GTA Online and the moments like the one described above to keep fans coming back. Rockstar has yet to announce whether or not, due to GTA Online’s massive user population, the GTA Online servers would be shut down when GTA 6 is released.
