Cyberpunk Tabletop Getting Edgerunners Starter Pack
R. Talsorian Games, the developers of the Cyberpunk Red tabletop RPG, have announced the release of a new Cyberpunk: Edgerunners-themed starter package. Since 2022, the realm of Night City has seen a renaissance in popularity because to the frequent updates published by CD Projekt Red for Cyberpunk 2077 and the smash hit anime adaptation of the game on Netflix, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. Cyberpunk 2077’s player community has grown exponentially over the last several months, but there are other ways to explore Night City and the Cyberpunk universe.

In particular, there is Mike Pondsmith’s Cyberpunk tabletop game, whose scenario was first devised by Pondsmith. Beginning with a glimpse into a dismal future, players of the Cyberpunk 2020 tabletop RPG set the tone. Newer versions were released throughout time, with Cyberpunk Red being the most recent. CD Projekt Red was able to create a whole new tale in Cyberpunk 2077 because to the fact that the game is set in 2045.
However, a new expansion for the tabletop game has been revealed, and it has missions inspired by the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime, perhaps bridging the chronological gap between the two media. All the rules and narrative newcomers to the tabletop game need to get started are included in one box, as is information about the world in 2077 for veteran players.
Since R. Talsorian has not yet specified a release date for this new module, it is unclear as to when it will be made accessible. Since the mission kit is linked to the anime, it’s possible that certain Cyberpunk: Edgerunners characters may make an appearance, but this hasn’t been confirmed. R. Talsorian will, of course, have to be selective about which and when characters it uses, given that many of those in Edgerunners wind up in quite different situations by the time the anime ends.
It’s not the first time a work set in Night City has been inspired by Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. Edgerunners patch brings David Martinez’s jacket and Rebecca’s shotgun to Cyberpunk 2077. Additionally, gamers may play as some of the anime’s characters and have access to a plethora of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners equipment via modding. Even so, this new module may serve as an excellent entry point for anyone curious in the Cyberpunk Red tabletop game.
