Netflix has plans to roll out additional livestreaming options in the near future, and they will begin with unscripted series and stand-up specials. The live performance by Rock is the first one that has been unveiled by the entertainment service.
This will be Rock’s second stand-up special for Netflix, following his debut in 2018 with “Chris Rock: Tamborine.” Alongside Dave Chappelle, the comedian who won an Emmy Award for his work also participated in the “Netflix Is a Joke” comedy festival early in 2022.
The comedy special that was broadcast live online will premiere on television in 2023.
Rock, who was famously smacked in the face by actor Will Smith during the 2022 Oscars ceremony, has stated that he will discuss his reaction to the incident during the live set that will be broadcast on Netflix.
“People expect me to talk about the bullshit, but right now I’m not going to talk about it,” the speaker said “he said those words in London while on his 2022 Ego Death tour, which will wrap up later this month. “It’s on Netflix, so I’ll watch it at some point.”
The streaming service has indicated that it will provide additional information regarding the live rock event at a later time.
According to Robbie Praw, vice president of stand-up and comedy formats at Netflix, “Chris Rock is one of the most iconic and important comedic voices of our generation.” [Citation needed] “We are overjoyed that people from all over the world will have the opportunity to participate in the history of Netflix while enjoying a live comedy performance by Chris Rock. This is going to be a moment that we will never forget, and we are so honoured that Chris is going to carry this torch.
