Fortunately for one Call of Duty: Warzone 2 gamer, a double XP token has been granted to them for a whole year. Released on November 16th, Call of Duty: Warzone 2 is a direct sequel to the first game set in the year 2020. There are certain new additions to Warzone 2 that set it apart from its predecessor, such as the Gulag now having 2v2 confrontations.

Modern multiplayer games like Warzone 2 have a variety of tasks that players may perform for experience points. Challenges might be as simple as achieving a certain amount of headshot kills, or they can force players to experiment with a new tool or weapon. Although fans can earn double XP tokens in Call of Duty: Warzone 2 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, these events typically last between 15 minutes and an hour. The Warzone 2 fan who submitted the winning entry won a token for one year of double XP, with one catch.

According to the data compiled by Dexerto, a Reddit user by the name of CranberryCarney was given a token for one year of double XP in the game Call of Duty: Warzone 2. It’s possible the user was taken aback when they discovered it in their account and decided to post about it in the hopes of getting some sort of clarification. A few players speculated that it was an oversight on Activision’s part and urged CranberryCarney to make use of it quickly in case it was revoked. As promised, CranberryCarney has provided proof that the token can be used by posting this confirmation.

This double XP token isn’t a typo, as other fans have pointed out; CranberryCarney actually won it as part of a promotion for Call of Duty with Mountain Dew. Due to the rarity of the token, the player should feel fortunate to have won one.

There is a catch to the 1-year double XP token, so don’t think it’s all rosy. The Call of Duty website states that players will receive a total of 365 bonus XP over the next year, but that this bonus will only apply for one hour per day. Due to the daily cap, the remaining bonus XP will be unnecessary. And while that’s a lot of experience points, regular play could help CranberryCarney reach the maximum level in both Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2.
