Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Players Discover a Strange Wallrun Technique
In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, a few players come across a wall where their character may wallrun across it during a routine multiplayer round. Even while the Call of Duty series has previously had wallrunning, particularly with the exo suits of Advanced Warfare and the futuristic technology of Black Ops 3, it did not really make it into the newly released Modern Warfare 2.

Infinity Ward’s most recent game does, in fact, alter the mobility system that fans have grown accustomed to over the course of the series’ many previous installments. The ledge grab and the dreaded return of the “dolphin dive” function, in which players racing at full speed may press the crouch button to enter a full-on dive to the ground, were among the new mechanics announced by Infinity Ward during the Call of Duty Next presentation. Now that another movement style has reportedly been found by fans, it is very obvious that it wasn’t intended to be part of the whole release.

A new video by TikTok user shmooookk demonstrates a peculiar location on the Modern Warfare 2 Taraq Village map where, if approached from the right angle, players may really wall run. Shmooookk and their colleague proceeded to experiment with the concept, demonstrating how to chain wall running into a slide or the aforementioned dolphin dive, despite how perplexing it was to uncover by mistake. Once more, it’s a fairly restricted maneuver that probably won’t help anyone win a fight.
It’s important to note that as of right now, just this specific wall in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has shown to be compatible with this movement strategy. While there aren’t many applications for it and combat engagements in this area of the map will be quite specialized, if employed properly, it might be used to surprise an unprepared opponent player, leaving them little time to respond. However, the method may also be used to dolphin dive off of a wall, sending a character spinning off of it like a helicopter and coming soaring across the battlefield.

While seemingly innocent enough, it’s likely something that Infinity Ward will clean up in a future patch. For now, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 still has priority issues that the studio is likely targeting first, including ones related to game crashing as well as some exploits found within the community. One nasty issue, which should be cleaned up this weekend according to Infinity Ward, is relating to a game crash when Modern Warfare 2 players attempt to join in a party.
