Samsung Galaxy S23: Geekbench listing seemingly confirms a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for European models
Next year is going to see the introduction of Samsung’s Galaxy S23 series. Prior generations have been criticised for having a lack of parity between models powered by Exynos and Snapdragon processors, but it now appears as though the Galaxy S23 family won’t have this issue at all. This is a very real possibility.

Samsung Galaxy S23: Geekbench listing seemingly confirms a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for European models
Previous reports had already hinted that the Galaxy S23 series would launch exclusively with the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, and new information lends credence to the idea that this will be the case. In the wake of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Summit, the newly released Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 has now been spotted inside of a device that appears to be a Samsung Galaxy S23 series phone. The in question smartphone has been given the model number SM-S918B, which identifies it as a Global/European variant of the S23 series. The model number for the European version of the Galaxy S22 Ultra, for instance, is SM-S908B.
The Geekbench listing highlights the phone’s 8 gigabytes of random access memory and Android version 13. It is interesting to note that the clock speed of the Cortex-X3 prime core is listed as 3.36 GHz. This is significantly higher than the 3.2 GHz clock speed that Qualcomm advertises the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 as having. It’s possible that the Galaxy S23 series is the only one with that core’s abnormally high frequency, but it’s more likely that the prototype is the only one with it.
When it comes to performance, the Samsung Galaxy S23 receives a score of 1504 for its single core and a score of 4580 for its multiple cores. In comparison, the A16 Bionic inside the iPhone 14 Pro models achieves median scores of 1882 and 5533, respectively, on the two tests mentioned above. The A16 Bionic has a 20% performance advantage over the competition when it comes to the CPU, according to these figures.
